Sweet Things

The idea begins with an assembly question: what if a soft toy could be built and rearranged? Cake imagery, concept drawings and a play scenario explore this direction.

Orthographic drawings describe the dessert forms, while the component inventory and fabricated pieces show how the set comes together. Layers, strips, ruffles and small fabric decorations provide different combinations.

Photographs document the physical prototype and several arrangements of its parts. Imaginative play is the design intention; these images do not document evaluated developmental outcomes.

An icing-inspired wordmark and packaging presentation extend the dessert theme. The child-and-packaging image illustrates a play setting.

In a separate supporting study, I worked with a classmate to deconstruct a Fisher-Price soccer-ball plush toy. We examined its exterior, seams, stitches, filling, internal parts and labels to understand soft-toy construction.

The drawings and photographs below document that reference product, rather than the construction of Sweet Things.
